Built on the original site of the University of Washington, this hotel became historically famous as the “grandest hotel west of the Mississippi.” Now a Seattle landmark, this bastion of grandeur is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This hotel features a state-of-the-art fitness club with indoor pool, spa tub, sauna, and weight room; plus treadmills, stationary bikes, stair steppers, and an elliptical trainer – all with personal DVD players attached. Work-out essentials include exercise clothing, swimsuits, goggles, swim caps, ice packs, and Evian water. On the 12th floor, a business center offers computer stations with high-speed Internet access, secretarial services, and a technology help-desk. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in the lobby or Georgian restaurant.

Lunch menu includes Roasted Steelhead with Lobster Stock and Morel Infused Pepe Pasta; Prosciutto and Basil Wrapped Massive Prawns with Cannelini Beans and Aged Balsamico. Afternoon tea served with freshly baked scones. Open daily.

Shuckers - Upscale pub-style restaurant/bar. Seafood menu features live oysters, smoked salmon, Northwest clam chowder; Microbrew Battered Fish and Chips, Dungeness Crab Cakes, and Garlic and Rosemary Roasted Whole Dungeness Crab. Open daily.

The Terrace - Lobby lounge. Cocktails and lighter fare served. Extensive selection of specialty-martinis. Live piano entertainment. Open daily.
